Fruit beers have been around for hundreds of years and are enjoying a healthy resurgence in Canadian Breweries. A growing number of consumers are moving towards beers with less bitterness but still want character.

I think these craft brewers got it right – it tastes like beer first, and fruit is the secondary flavour. Instead of candied or synthetic flavours they used real fruit and not extracts. They don’t look like highlighter ink and nor should they.

Canadians love beer.

It’s sort of a no brainer. But more and more of us don’t want to drink our Dad’s beer brand.  We want our beer to do more for us than a general sense of well-being and invincibility on the dance floor. It’s not enough that the beer tastes great!  We want to support local breweries and local ingredients. We don’t want it sold to us through lifestyle advertising; we want to experience it.

We are very pleased to announce the winner of our “Take a Bite in the Big Apple” contest. Pauline Grant from Toronto was drawn from the thousands of entries we received from across Canada and is now packing her bags for a trip for two to New York City!

There are so many things to love about summer. Sitting poolside on a warm afternoon. Taking a scenic Sunday drive with the windows rolled down. The sun rising earlier and setting later. On Tuesday, July 26^th we dusted off our clubs and hit the links at the gorgeous River Spirit Golf Course in Calgary for our annual Corporate Invitational Golf Tournament. As we rolled up to the course at 7:30 AM we were greeted by a torrential downpour, and I’m sure many of us thought this day we’ve had circled on our calendars in anticipation for so many months would be short-lived.
